Meeting of SWARBICA Executive Board

24^th July 2oo8, Kuala Lumpur

The meeting of Executive Board of ICA’s South and West Asian Regional Branch (SWARBICA) was held on Thursday, the 24^th July 2008 from 11.00 to 13.00 at the fringe of the 16^th  ICA (International Council on Archives) Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 21- 27 July 2008. 

  The meeting, in which were present some presidents of national archives or their deputies from Iran, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and ICA’s Deputy of General Secretary as well as several managers of National  Library and Archives of Islamic Republic of  Iran (nlai), proceeded as follows:

1. Offering ICA Secretary General ̉s point of views,

2. ICA Bursary ̉s report

3. Confirming Iran ̉s suggestion regarding holding e-learning courses on archive sciences as well as Pakistan ̉s one on establishing an educational center for the regional archivists, members were assigned to give their complementary suggestions,

4. Approving Iran ̉s suggestion in regard to holding the next meeting of the Executive Board and General Conference in May 2009, in Tehran,

5. Insistence on activating SWARBICA,

6. Acknowledging the National Library and Archives of Islamic Republic of Iran (nlai) ̉s efforts to design and initiation of independent site SWARBICA in May 2008.
